Window Waltz

"Window Waltz" was written for a ceremony to celebrate the renovation of some cherished stained glass windows originally dedicated to  loved ones.  The song can be performed for any occasion of remembrance and appreciation.

This version was arranged digitally.  As a performance piece, a variety of voices and instruments can be used based on choice and the ability  to improvise as desired.  No fingerings or phrasings are given.  Enjoy determining an arrangement based on this arrangement for what best suits  your group!  If you would like to have the piece in a different key, have transcriptions for non-C instruments, or copies for separate parts,  send a request to kayne@songsforall.com.

Possibilities for instrumentation are:    Vocal lines - SAB or SAB (with high tenor or low alto soloist) :   Soprano (or flute), Alto (or alto flute), Low Alto or High Tenor with solo (or clarinet),  Bass (or bass clarinet or bassoon)    Accompaniment - two violins or violas, guitar (as written here or playing chords), and string bass.

Other possibilities might incude a concertina  or keyboard with a chosen voicing.  The texture is thick throughout.   Feel free to eliminate certain instruments or harmonies at times as suited  for shaping the piece.

This song was first performed as a small ensemble with sopranos, altos, lead alto, bass, guitar and mandolin.  That arrangement is given here as well with the same options for improvisation.  BCK
